Must be a minority student (African American/Black or Hispanic/Latino)

Applicant must be a first-generation college student.

• For the purposes of The Vogue Room Foundation, a first-generation college student is defined as a graduating high school senior whose:

  • Parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have not earned a four-year (bachelor’s) degree from an accredited college or university; and

  • No immediate family member (including older siblings) has earned or is currently pursuing a four-year college degree.

Applicant must be a high school graduating senior and will be a freshman in the Fall of 2025 school year.

Applicant must be accepted as a full-time student at a (AL, DC, GA, NC, SC, MD, MS, or VA) state college/university program for the upcoming academic semester and will have on-campus housing.

Applicant must complete and submit the online application by Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Applicant must submit a VIDEO stating “What does being a first-generation college student mean to you? And why you should be selected for the 2026 Dorm Room Makeover? Be creative!!

Must be attending Johnson C. Smith University
